There was pandemonium in the ever busy Ikeja area of Lagos State, Nigeria on Friday, after a private operated crashed in a residential building near the Nigerian immigration Service office in Opebi district.
The small helicopter belonging to Quorum Aviation, was carrying two passengers and the pilot when it crashed at about noon. The crash caused heavy traffic in the Opebi-Ikeja axis, as workers and motorists in the area struggle to get a glimpse of the tragedy.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), who were at the seen to conduct search and rescue, speaking through the General Manager confirmed that two persons – the pilot and one passenger died, while the second passenger was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
It was gathered that the helicopter crash affected three buildings including the Salvation Army Church.
