Mikel Arteta named Arsenal new manager

Manchester City assistant manger, Mikel Arteta has been named the new manager of Arsenal football club, a daunting task considering that the former midfielder has no managerial experience aside, working as an assistant to Pep Guardiola.

Arteta’s immediate job will be to stop Aresenal’s current slide into oblivion, having only won one out of their last 14 games.

Arsenal fans have taken to twitter to either support the decision or express their skepticism, one of such is ever vocal Piers Morgan who has this to say on his twitter handle.

“Arsenal have replaced a popular former player with no managerial experience, with a popular former player with no managerial experience. Arteta’s been a great No2 to the best manager in the world – but can he be a great No1? We’re about to find out. I wish him luck.”

Anothe fan who identified as Royal Arsenal was more optimistic in his reaction he tweeted;

“The appointment of Mikel Arteta to Arsenal is a perfect opportunity for the fans to unite as one. It’s time to put personal agendas to one side and start backing the club. It’s a brave decision by the board but one that makes for an exciting future.”

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague says that Mikel Arteta is “more than ready” to take over at Arsenal.

The former midfielder has been strongly linked with a move back to north London following Unai Emery’s sacking. Now that he has been named all that remains is for Arteta to show what he has got.

Prior to taking Arsenal Job, he has said no to Newcastle and Lyon and there have been other offers. But it appears he’s been bidding his time to take over at Arsenal.
